In our latest Apprentice Spotlight, we’re introducing Ellie, who joined 3P Construct in January 2026 as a Finance Apprentice and is already building an exciting career within the construction industry.
Learning, Working and Building a Career
Ellie is currently studying towards her AAT qualification and is just weeks away from completing her Level 2 Bookkeeping qualification.
But that’s only the beginning. She plans to continue through AAT Levels 3 and 4 before progressing onto CIMA, with the long-term ambition of becoming a Finance Director within the construction industry.
For Ellie, choosing an apprenticeship offered the opportunity to combine formal qualifications with genuine workplace experience from the outset.
“I chose an apprenticeship because it gave me the opportunity to earn while I learn, gain real workplace experience and build practical skills from day one.”
Although finance has always been an area Ellie wanted to pursue, joining 3P has also given her an insight into the construction industry and the important role finance plays behind every successful project.
Developing Skills at 3P Construct
Since joining the business, Ellie has gained hands-on experience across a range of financial processes, including financial record keeping, invoice processing, cost tracking and accounting software.
Working within a busy construction environment has also helped her develop wider skills in communication, organisation and confidence.
One of the highlights, however, has been becoming part of the wider 3P team.
“What I’ve enjoyed most is being part of such a supportive team. From the beginning, I’ve felt like a valued member of the company. Everyone is approachable, willing to help and genuinely wants to see you succeed.”
Ellie’s Advice for Future Apprentices
For anyone considering taking the apprenticeship route, Ellie has one simple piece of advice:
“Don’t be afraid to give it a go. Make the most of every opportunity, ask questions and learn from the people around you.”
