3P Construct completed the full refurbishment and transformation of an existing classroom at Bader Academy, creating a new purpose-built Technology Hub designed to support practical, hands-on learning.
The project transformed the existing space into a modern, functional teaching environment, with the layout, services and finishes designed around the needs of both pupils and teaching staff.
Working through MAC Construction Consultants, who provided CDM, Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services, 3P Construct coordinated a comprehensive package of works and multiple trades to bring the new Technology Hub to life.
The Objective
The objective was to transform an existing classroom into a dedicated Technology Hub that would provide pupils with a safe, practical and engaging environment in which to learn, create and develop new skills.
As a specialist education setting, careful consideration also had to be given to how the finished space would function for the pupils and staff using it every day.
The result needed to go beyond simply refurbishing a classroom. It required the creation of a purpose-built learning environment with dedicated individual workstations, appropriate ventilation, durable finishes and infrastructure designed specifically around its new use.
The Solution
3P Construct delivered a comprehensive refurbishment programme, coordinating the different trades and specialist installations required to completely transform the existing classroom.
The new layout incorporates six individual pupil workstations alongside a dedicated teacher hub, creating clearly defined spaces for practical teaching and learning.
New electrical, drainage and ventilation systems were installed to support the Technology Hub, while bespoke worktops, specialist flooring and a new hygienic suspended acoustic ceiling completed the transformation.

Designed Around the People Using It
Bader Academy, part of Nexus Multi Academy Trust, provides specialist education for up to 132 children and young people aged 5–16 with Communication and Interaction needs, primarily supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
For 3P Construct, projects within specialist education environments are about far more than the finished appearance of a room.
Understanding how a space will actually be used is central to delivering an environment that works for the pupils, teaching staff and wider school community.
Every element of the Technology Hub, from the individual workstations and teacher hub to the flooring, ventilation and practical working surfaces, contributes to creating a space that is safe, functional and suited to its educational purpose.
