3P Construct was appointed to deliver new accessible toilet facilities for Arts Charity at Dean Clough (ACDC) and the Brightside Arts Club Café at Dean Clough.

Completed within a three-week programme, the project focused on improving accessibility, inclusivity and comfort for visitors, ensuring the facilities better meet the needs of those attending the café and wider arts programmes.

The Brightside Arts Club Café provides a welcoming environment for people living with dementia, disabilities and their families, offering opportunities for social connection, creativity and community engagement.

The project was designed to remove barriers to access and create facilities that allow all users to use the space with greater dignity, comfort and confidence.

The Objective

The objective was to deliver new accessible toilet facilities that would improve inclusivity, comfort and independence for visitors to the Brightside Arts Club Café.

Working within an active community facility meant the refurbishment also needed to be carefully managed to minimise disruption to the people using the venue and its ongoing activities.

Project Details

The project involved the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing toilet facilities to create a more accessible and user-friendly environment.

The design carefully considered the needs of visitors requiring wheelchair access, as well as those who benefit from clear, intuitive layouts and enhanced accessibility features.

The completed facilities help ensure the venue remains welcoming and accessible to all members of the community.

For 3P Construct, the project also held particular significance. Dementia has touched the families of both company directors, creating a personal connection to the work being undertaken and reinforcing the team’s commitment to delivering a high-quality outcome that would make a meaningful difference to those using the space.
